Comparative Analysis Various Aa7075 Composite Project Details

Abstract

The increasing use of innovative materials in the medical, aerospace, and automotive industries creates need for new lightweight, compact, and high-performance mechanical parts. While AA7075 composites have such attributes as high strength and corrosion resistance and thermal stability, they also pose a challenge for traditional machining processes due to their toughness and hardness. Many operational manufacturing processes are inefficient due to the lack of precision, sufficient surface finish, and the ability to create intricate geometries using traditional manufacturing methods. This problem required the development of advanced manufacturing processes. It is possible to machine tough metal matrix composites with greater precision and less effort using Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) which is

one of the non-conventional machining methods and is widely used in the production of molds and dies. EDM uses the process of controlled electrical discharges on metals and is able to effectively remove material from alloys with high strength and high resistance to heat. This study focuses on the effect of different machining parameters on the EDM process in order to determine how they affect the geometrical properties of the AA7075 composite metal matrix.
