A Tongue‐Computer Tactile Interface Mediated Project Details
| Abstract |
Current human-computer interaction (HCI) technologies frequently encounter challenges such as wearing discomfort, susceptibility to noise, user fatigue, and privacy implications, particularly for individuals with physical disabilities or those requiring high-precision control. This research addresses these limitations by proposing an interactive tongue-computer interface (ITCI) engineered to enable precise, hands-free interaction through subtle tongue movements. The ITCI leverages an array of direct current tribovoltaic tactile sensors, whose performance is significantly augmented by the magnetoelectric effect. These sensors exhibit impressive electrical characteristics, including a peak current density of 10.72 A m−2, a charge density of 718 mC m−2, and a sensitivity of 90 µA N−1. The integration of these advanced sensors with a
bidirectional long short-term memory (BiLSTM) neural network facilitates highly accurate signal recognition, achieving a reported accuracy of 99.98%. This robust recognition capability supports a wide spectrum of interactive applications, such as the control of smart wheelchairs, robotic manipulation tasks, and immersive gaming experiences. The developed interface is self-powered and noninvasive, thereby enhancing user autonomy and safeguarding privacy. It presents a robust and energy-efficient platform for intelligent, hands-free human–machine interaction, offering a promising avenue for advanced assistive technologies.
