Comparative Evaluation Effect Different Polishing is a B.Tech project topic for Mechanical Engineering. It gives students a clear starting point for research, implementation planning, and documentation.
Comparative Evaluation Effect Different Polishing Project Details
| Abstract |
The purpose of this project is to investigate how different polishing methods impact the surface roughness of 3D-printed resin materials and CAD/CAM restorative materials. The method the project will use involves creating test specimens with 3D printing techniques such as digital light processing (DLP) and stereolithography (SLA) along with samples made from CAD/CAM blocks. The polishing systems that will be reviewed are Sof-Lex, Composoft, Diacomp Plus TWIST, and Lucida DiaShine. The primary aim of this project is to measure surface roughness (or Ra value) before and after polishing. The project will also analyze how long polished surfaces retain their quality after environmental aging, using staining agents such as coffee and
red wine. The surface roughness data collected from this project will guide the improvement of surface quality and post-processing techniques used for additively manufactured and CAD/CAM materials. This will be particularly useful for components and surfaces that need to be resistant to environmental factors and have a high quality surface finish.
