Non-Humanoid Robotics Speech Synthesizer Design is a M.Tech project topic for Electrical Engineering. It gives students a clear starting point for research, implementation planning, and documentation.
Non-Humanoid Robotics Speech Synthesizer Design Project Details
| Abstract |
This M.Tech project involves the construction and analysis of the design and implementation of a Non-Humanoid Robotics Speech Synthesizer (NRSS) and how users perceive it. The system is designed to recognize and verbally greet people by using a text-to-speech module, an ultrasonic sensor for proximity, control circuitry, and a microcontroller that is programmed via the Arduino platform. This system, in addition to its other parts, allows for the recognition and personalized greeting of people and the ability to relay other information. This project builds on existing studies related to the speech perception of robots, but shifts focus to how users perceive the NRSS during early interactions. The main assumption of
this project is that non-humanoid robots with speech features can generate receptive feelings among users. The project constitutes the construction of the NRSS and its subsequent testing with participants of varying ages, as well as varying levels of experience with robots. In this study, the users' perception of the intelligence, ease-of-use, and friendliness of the NRSS will be evaluated. The anticipated result includes a workable NRSS and an analysis of data regarding users' perception of the NRSS to demonstrate its acceptance and usefulness for various applications, including greeting and directing people in public spaces.
