Energy Optimization Software Development Comparative Project Details
| Abstract |
Greenhouse gas emissions are a global concern, and, as a result, decreasing energy consumption has become a necessity across all industries, including software development. This paper looks at the role of energy efficiency in Green Software development, and how it can help alleviate the problem. This paper also compares the energy consumption of two fundamental sorting algorithms, Bubble Sort and Quick Sort, when sorting large Data sets. The research methodology involves a series of steps including the choice of appropriate software, creation of several distinct data sets, measurement of energy consumption, analysis of data and reporting of results. By implementing a combination of experiments and analyses, this paper defines the
energy characteristics of these algorithms. These results will aid in developing guidelines to reduce energy consumption in the software development life cycle. The results show that it is crucial for software developers to help design and build systems that will consume less energy to promote the proper use of technology and to preserve the environment.
