Recent advances corrosion behaviour interfacial Project Details
| Abstract |
Having a unique amalgamation of flexible adhesive and mechanical strength, rubber-metal composites are used in many industries. These include the automotive, aerospace, and offshore industries. Nevertheless, the lifespan of these composites are often cut short because of the extreme thermal, mechanical, and corrosion fatigue. This research, by examining the corrosion of metal-rubber composites, aims to understand the interface failures and the rubber-metal system interface degradation phenomena. Here, a detailed investigation of the interfacial adhesion rubber-metal composites failures and the system of rubber persists under aggressive condition mechanical fatigue (e.g., thermal fatigue), corrosion, exposure, and salinity rubber will be provided. Using a predictive mode, the research will shift towards the preferred
mechanistic insights of multi-scale modeling and real-time interfacial delaminated weathered rubber and cracks. The study will also focus on corrosion using bio-based fillers, as well as recycled rubber for the modern sustainable solution. This project will use a computational method and an experimental method to provide a framework and to describe pathways for improving reliability, renewability, environmental rubber-metal composites, and for the performance of the composites to ensure outstanding interfacial focus next generation.
