Hybridization Energy Storage Units Energy Project Details
| Abstract |
Renewable energy sources that are spread out across the grid are being added very quickly. To keep the grid stable and flexible, we need better ways to store energy. Hybrid energy storage systems (HESS) mix different storage technologiesβlike batteries and superβcapacitorsβthat have complementary strengths. HESS can help solve the problems caused by the new, variable power sources. This research looks at how to control, coordinate, and optimize a mix of storage units so they work together smoothly in a smart grid. It focuses especially on robust control methods that can handle the uncertainty of wind, solar, and changing loads. We compare several control structures: – Centralized control – Decentralized control
– Hierarchical control The goal is to give clear guidance for building resilient energyβmanagement strategies. We also test algorithms for sharing frequency support and allocating power. These algorithms aim to extend the life and improve the efficiency of each storage component, such as batteries and supercapacitors. Using simulations, the project develops a systematic approach for designing, modeling, and evaluating strong coordination strategies. This should make it easier to move toward sustainable, decentralized energy systems.
