Fluidic Manipulation Paper Origami Oil is a B.Tech project topic for Food Technology. It gives students a clear starting point for research, implementation planning, and documentation.
Fluidic Manipulation Paper Origami Oil Project Details
| Abstract |
This project looks at creating and testing a tiny, foldβup paper device that can quickly and cheaply check the quality of edible oils. The device uses specially shaped βfinβlikeβ paper pieces to move fluids precisely, so it can deliver exact volumes of liquids and place chemical reagents on the paper without any pumps. Small passive valves built into the fin arms control the flow, allowing several colorβchanging tests to run at once. To see how well the multiplexed origami device works, we also built a simpler, singleβchannel vertical paper device. This version performs peroxideβvalue titrations on different oil samples. By changing how much titrant is placed on the paper, a
brown color gradient appears that matches the peroxide level in the oil. The paperβbased microfluidic method provides a practical, lowβcost, and easyβtoβuse alternative to standard lab titrations. It is well suited for onβsite foodβquality checks and field screening in the agroβfood sector. Our work includes making the paper channels, preparing the reagents, and setting up a reliable colorβbased calibration scale for measuring peroxide content.
