Integration Battery Energy Storage Photovoltaic Project Details
| Abstract |
This work looks at how to design, connect, and test a hybrid microgrid that uses several energy sources. The goal is to rely less on the main grid and improve power reliability. The system combines a 300 kW photovoltaic (PV) array, wind turbines, and hydrogen fuel cells. All of these are linked to a 1 MWh Battery Energy Storage Unit (BESU) that smooths out the ups and downs of renewable power. Buck and boost converters handle precise voltage and current regulation. A threeβphase 600 kW inverter with an LCL filter keeps total harmonic distortion low. The microgrid can serve residential loads, commercial buildings, and electricβvehicle (EV) charging stations. We built
a detailed model in MATLAB and ran simulations to see how the system reacts to changes in weather and load. The analysis checks whether bus voltages stay stable, active and reactive power stay balanced, and energy is distributed efficiently in different operating modes. The results show how hybrid storage and renewable generation can work together in modern decentralized power systems.
