IoT enabled smart power quality is a B.Tech project topic for Electrical & Electronics Engineering. It gives students a clear starting point for research, implementation planning, and documentation.
IoT enabled smart power quality Project Details
| Abstract |
This project shows how to build and use an Internet of Things (IoT) system that monitors power quality in real time on threeβphase electrical networks. Poor power quality shows up as voltage swings, current imbalances, and powerβfactor errors, and these problems can hurt modern power grids and smartβhome systems. The proposed design uses a set of accurate voltage and current sensors connected to a fast microcontroller. The microcontroller continuously reads the threeβphase voltages and currents. It then turns the raw sensor data into key powerβquality numbers: active power, reactive power, apparent power, power factor, and frequency changes. A builtβin WiβFi module sends the processed data to a cloudβbased IoT platform.
From the cloud you can watch the data remotely, store it for later analysis, and get alerts when something abnormal happens. The project also covers practical steps such as calibrating the sensors, conditioning the signals, and setting up secure cloud communication. It gives engineering students clear instructions to design, construct, and test a scalable powerβmonitoring system, linking classroom theory with realβworld IoT automation.
