Performance Coconut Fibre Particles as Project Details

Abstract

This project studies how polymer matrix composites (PMCs) made from high‑density polyethylene (HDPE) and coconut‑fibre particles behave mechanically and thermally. The goal is to find eco‑friendly materials that are strong enough and stable enough for electrical and electronic uses. Composite samples are made by injection moulding. The experiments look at two main variables: – Filler volume fractions from 0 % up to 40 % – Three different particle sizes of the coconut fibre After molding, the parts are left at room temperature so any internal stresses can relax before testing. Mechanical properties are measured using standard ASTM methods: – ASTM D638 – tensile strength and elastic modulus – ASTM D790

– flexural strength – ASTM D256 – impact strength – ASTM D785 – Rockwell hardness Thermal conductivity and thermal stability are also measured to see if the composites can work as insulating materials. The work gives a clear plan for studying how natural‑fiber‑reinforced thermoplastics behave, and it provides a step‑by‑step approach for choosing the right filler amount and particle size in sustainable engineering designs.
