An Integrated Dual Antenna Multi-Band Project Details
| Abstract |
This project looks at how to design, simulate, and test a single dualβantenna system that works on several satellite bands. The system is meant for the tight space available on submarine multifunction masts. Normally, each frequency band needs its own antenna, which quickly fills up a small mast. To avoid that, we concentrate on one compact antenna that can handle multiple satellite bands at once. The design focuses on the key factors that make a satellite link reliable: – a low Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) – a low axial ratio for circular polarization – high gain – a wide bandwidth – a broad 3 dB beamwidth We use highβfrequency
electromagnetic simulation software to shape the antenna so the two radiating parts donβt interfere with each other, while keeping the whole structure small. The project also gives stepβbyβstep guidance on: – running parametric studies – matching the antenna impedance – evaluating the radiation patterns These results provide a solid starting point for M.Tech students who want to study and build advanced multiβband antennas for modern maritime and military satellite communications.
