Simulation Investigation Solar PV Rooftop is a M.Tech project topic for Electrical Engineering. It gives students a clear starting point for research, implementation planning, and documentation.
Simulation Investigation Solar PV Rooftop Project Details
| Abstract |
This project uses computer simulations to design and evaluate a gridβconnected rooftop solar PV system for the Faculty of Engineering buildings at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). Local climate data from Meteonorm 8.0 are used to model the solar resource in the hot, humid tropical climate. The buildingβs actual electricity demand is measured with a Fluke 435 power analyzer, providing the load profile for sizing the system. PVSyst 7.2 software runs the system modeling and performance simulations, resulting in a 105 kW gridβtied PV design. The study compares several solarβpanel technologies to find the configuration that gives the highest annual energy output and performance ratio, while keeping the inverter type the
same. The simulation results show how much energy the system can generate, where losses occur, and how it interacts with the grid. These findings give a solid basis for installing large rooftop solar systems in similar institutional buildings.
