3D Bioprinting Technology Tissue Engineering Project Details
| Abstract |
This project offers a detailed evaluation framework for 3D bioprinting used in tissue engineering, emphasizing how printing methods and material choices affect each other. We systematically examine extrusion, inkjet, and lightβbased bioprinting, looking at factors such as shear stress, resolution, and printing speed. At the same time, we evaluate how to choose bioinksβnatural hydrogels, synthetic polymers, or compositesβbased on their flow behavior, crosslinking mechanisms, and biocompatibility. A multiβcriteria decision model helps match a specific tissue target with the best printing method and material mix. We use computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to model bioink flow through tiny nozzles, predicting cell damage from shear and how well the printed structure retains
its shape. The framework acts as a guide to optimize scaffold fabrication, keeping the structure strong and cells alive for regenerativeβmedicine applications. In short, this work provides a systematic way to balance printability and biological function in scaffold design.
