Integrated Evaluation Rooftop Solar Power Project Details
| Abstract |
This project evaluates how well an onβgrid rooftop photovoltaic (PV) system works in a tropical climate. We used PVsyst simulation software together with 30 days of realβworld monitoring data. The system has a 135 kW p capacity, made up of 217 PV modules and three inverters. Its DC/AC ratio is 1.12. Our assessment looks at geometric, electrical, and environmental factors. We focus on solar irradiance, module temperature, shading losses, and the power the system actually produces. To study the data we applied statistical tools such as Pearson correlation, simple linear regression, and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). Results show an annual electrical energy yield of 184,570 kWh. That works out
to a specific production of 1,372 kWh per kW p per year and an overall performance ratio of 79.87 %. We found a very strong positive linear relationship between solar irradiance and system output power (R = 0.981). Higher module temperatures and shading both reduce output, and we quantified those losses. The work offers practical guidance for designing, modeling, and optimizing commercial rooftop solar installations in tropical regions. It also provides a reliable method for checking performance and reducing losses.
