Projecting climate change impacts streamflow is a M.Tech project topic for Civil Engineering. It gives students a clear starting point for research, implementation planning, and documentation.
Projecting climate change impacts streamflow Project Details
| Abstract |
This project framework helps you study how climate change will affect the water flow in the Kunthi River Basin, a small, ungated catchment in Peninsular India. It uses the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) to build, tune, and test a semiβdistributed hydrological model with historic spatial and weather data. The model is tuned with data from 1991β1997 and tested with data from 1998β2005, comparing the results to measured streamflow at the basinβs outlet gauge. Model performance is checked with the NashβSutcliffe Efficiency (NSE) and uncertainty measures called the pβfactor and rβfactor. After the model passes validation, you can add climate projections for 2075β2088 under RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5
to predict future streamflow changes. This stepβbyβstep guide lets graduate students examine waterβbalance components, evaluate waterβresource vulnerability, and design climateβresilient watershed management plans for monsoonβdriven tropical basins.
