TECHO-ECONOMIC OPTIMIZATION HYBRID RENEWABLE ENERGY is a M.Tech project topic for Electrical Engineering. It gives students a clear starting point for research, implementation planning, and documentation.
TECHO-ECONOMIC OPTIMIZATION HYBRID RENEWABLE ENERGY Project Details
| Abstract |
The project evaluates three standβalone hybrid renewable energy systems (HRES) that could power Jibia General Hospital in Katsina State, Nigeria. Using the HOMER (Hybrid Optimization Model for Electric Renewables) software, we modeled: * a solarβPV array with battery storage, * a wind turbine with battery storage, and * a combined PVβwindβbattery system. We judged each design by its Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE), its Loss of Power Supply Probability (LPSP), and how much excess energy it produced. The simulation shows that the combined PVβwindβbattery system is the most costβeffective. It delivers an LCOE of β¦29.48 per kWh, an LPSP of only 0.0137 %, and limits excess energy to 3,523 kW.
These results give clear guidance on how to size, model, and economically assess microgrids for hospitals in remote or unreliable grid areas. The methodology can be used as a stepβbyβstep framework for both academic studies and realβworld hybrid renewable energy projects.
