Superior Adaptive Fuzzy Sliding Mode Project Details
| Abstract |
This project outlines a complete framework for designing and simulating an advanced control system for multiβdegreeβofβfreedom robot arms that are driven by electric motors. Conventional slidingβmode controllers often produce highβfrequency chatter and react poorly to uncertain parameters or external disturbances. To overcome these problems, we study an adaptive fuzzy slidingβmode controller that combines the strong tracking ability of slidingβmode control with the flexible modeling power of fuzzy logic. The fuzzy logic part continuously estimates unknown dynamics and disturbances, while the adaptive laws adjust the controllerβs parameters in real time. This approach does not need exact mathematical models of the robot or its electric actuators. We also include the dynamics of
the actuatorsβspecifically DC motorsβso the control design reflects realβworld behavior. Using a detailed mathematical model and Lyapunov stability analysis, we prove that the closedβloop system is asymptotically stable. The project also supplies code and simulation instructions to test how well the controller tracks desired trajectories, reduces chatter, and stays robust when the payload changes or external disturbances occur.
