Crypto-coding technique polar code secret Project Details
| Abstract |
This research looks at a combined cryptoβcoding approach that boosts physicalβlayer security and reliability in wireless links without adding any extra hardware. The scheme mixes polar codes with a secret key that is generated on the fly from the reciprocal properties of the wireless channel. To get both encryption and error correction in one step, the secret key is split into two parts. The first part is placed in the frozenβbit positions of the polar encoder, and the second part is XORed with the active information bits. We test the system over an Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel, trying different key lengths and code lengths. The method keeps the
errorβcorrection strength and low computational load of ordinary polar codes for the intended receiver, while making the decoded signal completely unusable for any passive eavesdropper. The accompanying implementation guide walks you through modeling the channelβderived key, setting up the dualβpurpose polar encoder, and running simulations to produce bitβerrorβrate (BER) curves that confirm the security and reliability results.
