A Smart Fluid-Hydraulic System MRF is a M.Tech project topic for Mechanical Engineering. It gives students a clear starting point for research, implementation planning, and documentation.
A Smart Fluid-Hydraulic System MRF Project Details
| Abstract |
The project develops and tests a smart hydraulic system that uses a magnetorheological fluid (MRF) valve for flexible grasping. Conventional hydraulic systems have trouble controlling the gentle forces needed for fragile or oddly shaped items. Magnetorheological fluids change their viscosity when a magnetic field is applied, so we can fineβtune pressure and flow in hydraulic actuators. We model how the MRF yields shear inside the valve and study how it reacts during a grasp. The work also guides how to set up experiments that capture the fluidβstructure interaction and the valveβs transient behavior. Using simulations and controlβsystem design, we examine how magnetic field strength, valve pressure drop, and the actuatorβs
gripping force are linked. The results help design adaptive, compliant robot endβeffectors, offering a clear method to model smart hydraulic control, improve force feedback, and reduce overshoot when contact starts.
