This project proposes an AI Regulatory Compliance Checker for Contracts that uses Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML), and Large Language Models (LLMs) to identify and mitigate compliance risks prior to contract execution. The system analyses legal documents and identifies contract clauses that pose compliance risks by providing the applicable provisions of regulatory statutes, including GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS that the organization has selected. The system is designed to include modules
for document ingestion, advanced clause classification, semantic analysis, contextual retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and improved risk scoring. Initial testing has shown improved efficiency, accuracy, scalability, and consistency in contract analysis against previously manual review methods. This research highlights the burgeoning role of AI legal tech in reengineering the compliance management process and reducing operational costs and legal risks.
