Analyzing Emerging Circular Economy Business Models in the E-waste Sector Through the Business Model Canvas

The amount of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) is growing fast worldwide. This creates big environmental problems but also chances to recover valuable resources. Circular‑economy ideas can help, yet clear ways to apply them in the e‑waste industry are still missing. This research project offers a complete evaluation framework for studying new circular business models using the Business Model Canvas (BMC). We work with real data from a group of young companies that operate in the WEEE sector. The study focuses on four main areas: – value proposition – value delivery – value creation – value capture We line these areas up with established circular strategies to build a

step‑by‑step method for finding workable end‑of‑life routes, resource‑recovery options, and sustainable value chains. The resulting models help researchers and environmental engineers assess the economic and environmental performance of different e‑waste management approaches. This framework can guide decisions that move electronic products from a linear to a closed‑loop life cycle, providing a solid academic base for policy making and sustainable product design.
