Design implementation FLC SVSC techniques Project Details
| Abstract |
This project presents a comprehensive design and simulation framework for a single-stage hybrid electric power system (HRES) that integrates maximum power point tracking (MPPT) battery charging and dual-leg DC-AC conversion. Traditional HRES architectures rely on multi-stage power conversion, which introduces high switching losses, circuit complexity, and reduced overall efficiency. To mitigate these issues, this research explores a unified topology controlled by a Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) for MPPT and a Sliding Variable Structure Controller (SVSC) for the dual-leg inverter. The FLC dynamically optimizes power extraction from a photovoltaic source under varying environmental conditions, while the SVSC regulates the output voltage and enhances dynamic response during load variations. By combining voltage
boosting and DC-AC conversion into a single stage, the proposed system minimizes component count and switching losses. The performance of the integrated converter is validated through MATLAB/Simulink simulations, demonstrating steady-state stability, rapid transient response, and effective voltage regulation under both resistive and inductive loading conditions. This framework provides valuable implementation guidance and research direction for advanced power electronic interfaces in renewable energy applications.
