Design Low Vision Electronic Glasses is a B.Tech project topic for Electronics & Communication Engineering. It gives students a clear starting point for research, implementation planning, and documentation.
Design Low Vision Electronic Glasses Project Details
| Abstract |
This project describes a wearable electronic eyeglass prototype that helps people with low vision. The device uses a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B singleβboard computer and a digital camera module to capture video in real time. Processed video frames are shown on a small LCD that mounts on the head. The software is written in Python with the OpenCV library. It runs five separate imageβprocessing pipelines: – Digital magnification (zoom) – Brightness enhancement – Adaptive contrast enhancement – Edge enhancement – Optical character recognition (OCR) for detecting text Tests show that the system works in real time. It reaches 30β40 FPS when only brightness or contrast is adjusted, about 20
FPS for zoom and edgeβdetection modes, and roughly 1.3 FPS while performing text recognition. The design is lowβcost and portable, making it a useful platform for headβmounted assistive devices that boost the userβs remaining vision. The project also provides detailed instructions on hardware integration, software tuning, and realβtime performance testing for engineering students.
