Abstract

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a highly prevalent workplace musculoskeletal disorder caused by prolonged improper wrist posture compressing the median nerve. Traditional monitoring systems rely on rigid, expensive electronics or vision-based tracking, which lack portability and comfort. To address this, the source paper presents a low-cost, wearable, flexible paper patch patterned with silver-conductive ink for continuous biomechanical monitoring. The fabrication process involves synthesizing silver nanoparticles via a chemical reduction method to ensure high electrical conductivity and oxidation resistance. These nanoparticles are formulated into a conductive ink using suitable binders and printed onto a flexible paper substrate. When the user moves their wrist, the mechanical deformation of the paper patch alters

the conductive path, resulting in detectable resistance variations that correlate directly with wrist bending angles. For M.Tech researchers, this work provides a foundation for studying flexible sensor mechanics, ink formulation, and electromechanical calibration. Implementation support can focus on characterizing the sensor's sensitivity, hysteresis, and cyclic stability under repeated bending. While the paper demonstrates the feasibility of posture tracking, further research is needed to address long-term durability, sweat resistance, and wireless integration for practical ergonomic monitoring.
