| Abstract |
The rise of air pollution globally, caused mainly by industrialization and the increased use of cars, has prompted the need for the development of effective ways to combat air pollution. The presence of airborne pollutants is directly related to a number of health problems, including respiratory diseases, allergies, and other negative health effects. This creates a demand for improved air filtration systems for indoor environments. This project describes the planning, design, and construction of a low-cost solar-powered air filter system. The system design includes a multi-stage filter system, which consists of a pre-filter for the removal of large particles, a particulate filter for the capture of small particles and microorganisms,
and an activated carbon filter for the removal of odors and toxic gases. Using solar energy to power the system will significantly minimize operational costs and power consumption. This makes it a more sustainable and viable option to other conventional systems for air purification. The system will be designed to be environmentally friendly and it will cater to an indoor area and from that it will provide a clean environment an area designed to be a place of residence or limited use.
