Stability Evaluation Dual-terminal Structure DC Project Details
| Abstract |
This project gives research direction and implementation help for checking the cascaded stability of dualβterminal structure (DTS) DC distribution power systems (DDPS) that use several DC transformers (DCTs). Modern DDPSs often use DTS layouts to get higher load capacity, better efficiency, and higher power density. Activeβdamping methods are usually added to each DCT to stop local oscillations, but we still need to see how those methods affect the overall stability of a network that has many DCTs. This work shows how to build a complete smallβsignal impedance model for a DTS DDPS. With the Nyquist stability criterion, we systematically examine the systemβlevel stability when every DCT is controlled with active
damping. The modeling framework lets us: – evaluate stability margins, – measure how fast the system responds dynamically, and – check powerβbalancing ability under different load conditions. We verify the results with simulations in MATLAB/Simulink or PLECS. The simulations confirm that a DTS DDPS with activeβdamping control keeps a strong stability margin and recovers quickly from transients. The approach helps M.Tech students learn impedanceβbased stability analysis and control design for advanced DC distribution networks.
