1. Start With the Research Question

Define the phenomenon, context, objective and answer you need. Your method should serve that question; it should not force the question to fit a favorite tool.

Use quantitative evidence for measurable patterns, qualitative evidence for experiences and context, or mixed methods when both are needed to answer the question.

3. Choose the Research Design

Specify the population or test conditions, variables, sample logic, instruments, calibration and collection procedure before gathering results.

6. Test Feasibility and Ethics
