Reduced order modelling method electromagnetic Project Details
| Abstract |
This research project develops a reducedβorder modeling (ROM) workflow for fast electromagnetic analysis of electrical machines over their full operating range. Highβfidelity finite element analysis (FEA) of machinesβespecially when calculating stator forces for later structural and vibroβacoustic studiesβtakes a lot of time. To cut this bottleneck, we explore a response surface model (RSM) approach that builds a very accurate but lightweight ROM. We test the framework on a permanentβmagnet synchronous motor (PMSM) design as a reference. By mapping electromagnetic quantities and stator forces at many operating points, the ROM enables quick multiβphysics coupling without the long run times of full FEA. The project supplies tools for modeling the electromagnetic behavior,
creating the response surface, and checking the ROM results against fullβscale finite element simulations. This method offers a useful path for optimizing electric drivetrains that need repeated coβsimulation of electromagnetic and mechanical domains.
