Stochastic reliability modeling integrated cloud–fog–IoMT Project Details
| Abstract |
This project offers a clear framework to evaluate how reliable a combined Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), fog computing, cloud computing, and Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET) system is for continuous patient monitoring. Because dependable healthcare is critical in emergencies, the system uses a probabilistic analytical method. We apply Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs) and continuous‑time Markov chains (CTMCs) to model the failure and repair behavior of diverse hardware components across the layered network. By examining the state changes of the integrated nodes, the framework derives formulas that quantify overall system availability and reliability. Implementation focuses on simulating these models under different operating conditions, such as varying node failure rates and
repair times. A comparison shows that adding fog nodes and using VANET‑assisted routing outperforms traditional cloud‑only architectures. This work provides essential guidance for designing fault‑tolerant biomedical telemetry systems, ensuring critical physiological data keep flowing even during disasters.
