Effects Multiple Precursors Bond Strength Project Details
| Abstract |
This research-oriented project investigates the structural performance of Geopolymer-based Reinforced Concrete (GPRC) beams synthesized using multiple industrial byproducts, including Fly Ash (FA), Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS), and Silica Fume (SF). Developed as an eco-friendly alternative to conventional Portland cement concrete, this ambiently cured geopolymer concrete (GPC) is evaluated for its mechanical properties, steel-concrete interface bond strength, and flexural behavior. The experimental methodology involves testing GPRC beams under flexural loading to analyze critical structural parameters such as crack initiation and propagation, failure modes, ultimate load-carrying capacity, moment-deflection characteristics, strain response, end rotations, and ductility ratios. The study evaluates the influence of varying precursor proportions (GP30M4, GP50M4, and GP70M4) and
reinforcement bar diameters (10 mm and 12 mm) on the overall structural performance. The findings provide comprehensive data on the structural viability of multi-precursor GPC, highlighting the enhancement in bond strength and load-carrying capacity associated with optimized precursor blending. This project offers structural engineering students a rigorous framework for analyzing sustainable concrete elements, supporting academic research in green building materials and structural design optimization.
