DESIGN DIRECT ITAE MRAC AUGMENTED Project Details
| Abstract |
This research addresses the challenges of poor rise time and settling time in satellite dish antenna positioning systems. Traditional Model Reference Adaptive Control (MRAC) optimized via the Integral Time Absolute Error (ITAE) criterion often struggles with transient response delays. To overcome this, the paper proposes two hybrid multi-loop control architectures: ITAE-MRAC augmented with a Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) and ITAE-MRAC integrated with a Fuzzy-PD plus Integral (Fuzzy-PD+I) controller. In these configurations, the ITAE-MRAC operates as the outer loop, dynamically adjusting the control parameters of the inner loop (FLC or Fuzzy-PD+I) to stabilize and accelerate tracking performance. The performance of these hybrid schemes is evaluated against conventional PID, standalone ITAE-MRAC, and
standalone fuzzy controllers. While the paper demonstrates significant improvements in tracking response and setpoint accuracy, detailed physical hardware constraints and noise-handling capabilities under extreme environmental disturbances remain areas for further investigation.
