Development Web-Enabled Expert System Career Project Details
| Abstract |
The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) split the Higher National Diploma (HND) Computer Science program in Nigerian polytechnics into four pathways: Software and Web Development, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, and Networking and Cloud Computing. Many prospective students struggle to pick the right pathway because they arenβt clear on the job requirements and career outlook for each option. To help with this, the research creates a webβbased expert system that guides students through the decision. The system uses an expertβsystem architecture with a structured knowledge base that lists the skills, career prospects, and academic requirements for each field. Developed as a responsive web application for Windows, it takes a studentβs
interests, academic strengths, and career goals, matches them against its rule base, and recommends the most suitable specialization. The project also provides stepβbyβstep implementation guidance for B.Tech students who want to build webβbased decisionβsupport tools, ruleβbased reasoning systems, and educationalβtechnology applications.
