Multi-Spacecraft Formation Attitude Coordinated Control Project Details
| Abstract |
This project tackles the hard problem of keeping the attitudes (orientations) of a group of spacecraft aligned when there are constant communication delays. In a distributed satellite network, any delay in sharing information can quickly hurt performance and even break the formationβs stability. To fight these problems, we study a coordinated attitudeβcontrol algorithm that uses doubleβexponential control theory. The idea is to speed up the convergence of auxiliary variables that are built from the tracking errors of the system. This makes the formation much more robust to network latency. We prove the systemβs stability with a LyapunovβKrasovskii functional. The analysis gives clear conditions that guarantee the attitudeβsynchronization errors will go
to zero over time, even with communication delays. We test the method with numerical simulations of a multiβspacecraft formation. The results show that the doubleβexponential auxiliaryβvariable approach keeps the spacecraft attitudes tightly synchronized. The material also includes MATLAB/Simulink support for: – modeling timeβdelayed multiβagent systems, – setting up the control laws, – performing the stability analysis. This provides a practical framework for advanced research in guidance, navigation, and control.
