Performance-based design pseudo-sliding mode speed Project Details
| Abstract |
This research framework deals with designing and testing pseudoβsliding mode control (PSMC) for electric motor drives. Traditional sliding mode control often creates highβfrequency chattering, which harms the motorβs mechanical parts and reduces efficiency. To reduce these problems, we develop a performanceβbased design method that balances tracking accuracy, robustness to parameter changes, and smoothness of the control signal. The approach gives a stepβbyβstep procedure for setting the pseudoβsliding surface and the boundaryβlayer parameters using defined dynamic performance indices. Using a detailed mathematical model of the motor drive, we prove closedβloop stability with Lyapunov criteria. Simulation models are built to check both transient and steadyβstate behavior when load torque varies or parameters
are uncertain. The method offers clear guidance for creating robust speed controllers in industrial drives, achieving a good compromise between chattering reduction and disturbance rejection. This framework can be used as a complete reference for designing, simulating, and evaluating advanced robust control algorithms in modern electric propulsion systems.
