Microgrids green hydrogen production fuel is a M.Tech project topic for Electrical Engineering. It gives students a clear starting point for research, implementation planning, and documentation.
Microgrids green hydrogen production fuel Project Details
| Abstract |
This project evaluates hybrid microgrid designs that produce green hydrogen for zeroβemission public transport. The case study looks at five longβdistance fuelβcell buses in Fiji, each following a set daily schedule. It determines the best sizes for solar panels and wind turbines. Both gridβconnected and fully offβgrid setups are simulated to check technical soundness and economic sense. The optimization aims to minimize Net Present Cost, while comparing highβpressure hydrogen compression needed for fueling with lowβpressure, uncompressed storage. Seven different system layouts are modeled and their performance metrics are compared. The results show the levelized cost of hydrogen, system reliability, and how much renewable energy can be used. The work offers
a clear method for building hydrogenβbased transit systems in small island developing states and provides a simulation framework for assessing local renewable resources and hydrogen supply chains.
