Experimental Design Energy-Saving Egg Incubator Project Details
| Abstract |
Keeping an artificial egg incubator at the right temperature and humidity is essential for getting good hatch rates in poultry production. The target temperature is about 37.5 Β°C and the humidity should stay between 55 % and 60 %. Even small changes from these values can lower hatchability and create waste. Typical control systems often use a lot of energy and tend to overshoot the set points, which reduces overall efficiency. This study tackles those problems by creating an energyβsaving incubator that uses a hybrid FuzzyβPID controller. The hybrid controller works in two ways: * Fuzzy logic provides ruleβbased decisions that are robust to changing conditions. * The PID part
removes steadyβstate error, giving precise control. By continuously reading temperature and humidity data, the controller adjusts the heating and humidifying elements in real time. This reduces overshoot and keeps the incubatorβs microclimate stable throughout the 21βday cycle. The research includes: * Building a mathematical model of the incubator. * Designing the hybrid controller. * Comparing its performance with traditional control methods. Results show a faster transient response, shorter settling time, and noticeably lower electrical energy use while still meeting the strict environmental requirements for successful incubation.
