Advanced control strategy AC microgrids Project Details
| Abstract |
This research framework tackles voltage and frequency regulation problems in AC microgrids when loads change quickly and many distributed energy resources are present. Conventional PI controllers often struggle to keep the system stable under strongly nonβlinear conditions. To overcome this, we study a control scheme that combines a hybrid artificial neural network (ANN) adaptive PI controller with droop control and virtual impedance. The virtual impedance loop is designed to separate active and reactive power, reducing problems caused by mismatched line impedances. At the same time, the ANN adaptively adjusts the proportional and integral gains of the innerβloop controllers in real time, reacting to transients and load changes. Droop control provides
decentralized power sharing among parallel inverters. The method gives a clear way to model, simulate, and assess the microgridβs transient response, total harmonic distortion (THD), and powerβsharing accuracy. This framework offers a solid research path for studying smart control approaches in modern decentralized power systems.
