An Adaptive Frequency Multi-Resonant Current Project Details
| Abstract |
This research-based project framework addresses the challenges of power quality degradation in grid-connected photovoltaic systems caused by frequency deviations, DC offsets, and voltage harmonics. A comprehensive control architecture is presented for a single-phase five-level cascaded H-bridge inverter. The methodology integrates a modified second-order generalized integrator phase-locked loop (MSOGI-PLL) with an adaptive frequency multi-resonant current controller (AFMRCC). The MSOGI-PLL ensures robust phase and frequency synchronization under highly distorted grid conditions. Concurrently, the AFMRCC dynamically tunes its resonant frequencies to track the estimated grid frequency, facilitating the selective mitigation of dominant low-order harmonics, specifically the third, fifth, and seventh components. To suppress high-frequency switching noise, an inductor-capacitor-inductor (LCL) filter is modeled alongside
a phase-disposition pulse-width modulation (PD-PWM) scheme. The performance of this adaptive control strategy is structured for evaluation using MATLAB/Simulink for a 3.5 kW grid-tied system. This framework provides academic guidance for analyzing dynamic current tracking, total harmonic distortion (THD) reduction, and grid synchronization stability under non-ideal grid environments, offering a solid foundation for advanced power electronics research.
