Analysis underwater communication systems hybrid Project Details
| Abstract |
Communicating underwater is hard because signals weaken, light scatters, bends, and takes multiple paths. Acoustic links can reach far, but they are slow and carry little data. Optical wireless (LiβFi) is fast, yet it works only over short distances and is affected by cloudy water. To solve these problems, we study a hybrid system that combines optical and acoustic links. Using LiβFiβs speed together with acousticβs range, the system tries to keep a steady, realβtime data connection between autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and surface stations. The research looks at physical limits such as energy absorption and tests adaptive signalβprocessing methods that can adjust link quality on the fly. Important design
choices are examined, including: – the best laser wavelength, and – how to tune the photodetector These choices aim to maximize data throughput. The paper describes the theoretical network layout and compares the performance of each channel, but it does not include realβworld test data for different water clarity levels. It also offers guidance on how to structure and simulate hybrid underwater links.
