Optimising hybrid renewable energy systems Project Details
| Abstract |
Remote tribal areas in central and eastern India often struggle to get reliable electricity because extending the grid is difficult. This research framework tackles that problem by modeling and optimizing hybrid renewable energy systems (HRES) that match the specific power needs of offβgrid villages. Using technoβeconomic optimization, the system combines solar panels, wind turbines, biomass gasifiers, and battery storage to create a dependable microgrid. The mathematical model aims to minimize both the Net Present Cost (NPC) and the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) while keeping the loss of power supply probability (LPSP) low. We run detailed simulations with local weather data and varying loads to compare different hybrid setups. Sensitivity
analyses examine how changes in fuel prices, load growth, and solar irradiance affect system stability and costβeffectiveness. The result is a stepβbyβstep method for designing resilient, lowβemission, decentralized energy systems. It offers a solid tool for planning rural electrification in remote, environmentally sensitive regions.
